CrossFit is defined as constantly varied functional movement at high intensity. But that definition only begins to describe the scope of CrossFit. CrossFit is about improving yourself, it’s about becoming the man or woman you always wanted to be, it’s about getting off the couch and into the gym, it’s about putting down the potato chips and picking up the celery, it’s about forming a community of like-minded individuals to support you and push you to your goals. CrossFit is a lifestyle.
CrossFit is first and foremost about improving your position on the health and wellness spectrum, moving closer to fit and further from sick. Kipping pull-ups, handstand push-ups, and burpees are not the goal – they are a means to an end, and that end is to be fit, plain and simple. We define fitness as work capacity across broad time and modal domains. CrossFit is designed to improve the following list of skills, believed to encompass the full spectrum of fitness.
